Custom Emulsions

Emulsions Make the World Go Around

Some companies treat emulsions as second-class citizens, but Reed Wax knows that the right emulsion can be the workhorse of manufacturing and product development- faster production lines, rust-free ships, color uniformity – to name just a few.

Chemical Resist
Allows for precise material protection and patterning. Multi-colored platters in 25-50 lb drums.

Torque Reduction
Coatings and protective films for production-line fasteners allows for optimal production efficiency ensuring fasteners don’t come loose, snap off, or strip its threads.

Lubrication
Lubricating waxes are desirable to reduce friction across any number of industries from nails in construction to production-line fabrication to sporting goods such as skis and surf boards.

Water Proofing
Naturally water resistant, paraffin wax coatings are used to make products waterproof, from marine vessel construction to textiles.

Concrete Bond Breaking
A wax bond breaker is applied to concrete surfaces to guarantee that there is permanent bonding between the two. Bond breakers are normally used on tilt-up walls, but are also poured over concrete  to eliminate or reduce the cracking due to temperature and moisture fluctuations. Bond Breaking waxes are also used to ensure concrete separate clieanly from a mold.

Textile Treatment
Used as a thin film, emulsions provide a protective treatment and water resistance to leather and textiles.

Microcrystalline Wax Emulsion
Microcystalline works with a wide range of oils and some waxes to deliver color uniformity. It is also popular for offering high tensile strength.

Paraffin Wax Emulsion
Paraffin is a popular, all-natural, emulsion option. Its low oil content means it can delivers low viscosity and also has the benefit of being odorless. Paraffin is often go-to emulsion because it blends easily with a wide range of wax-based products.
